The end is nigh!

December 20th, 2008

The end of the year that is!!

I think it is safe to say that it has been a turbulent year! in fact one of the most turbulent years in modern history! there is hardly an industry that hasn’t been affected in one way or another by either the stock market fluctuations, currency fluctuations, inflation, interest rates, credit crunch, recession…. never in my life did I think I would use all these words in one article!

I am not sure we have seen the end of it; the latest hit, and getting the most media coverage is now the automotive industry… when will it end?

All I can say is that although it all seems like bad news, (and I cant even remember the last “good news story” I read in the papers, or heard on the evening news), I can assure you that if you look hard enough around you, THERE ARE good things still happening, so please please don’t let all this bad press kid you that we are all doomed!

In fact, can I ask that people email me on shane@eyewebsolutions.co.uk with “good news” stories, or “success stories” from the past year, in particular business related. If I get any worth sharing I will post them in the New Year!

So before I finish I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and a PROSPEROUS New Year.

On a final note, why not treat yours or your companies website to a facelift in the New Year….. and remember that people ARE still spending, so why shouldn’t they spend it with you! be seen!

Web Design Solutions

October 13th, 2008

Last week was a very busy week for us in the Web Design world.  We have been commissioned to build websites for a number of diverse organisations; an underfloor heating company, a waste and recycling company, in fact TWO waste and recycling companies, as well as tendering for another construction company project.

Having recently launched Quibells website (www.quibell.co.uk), and very shortly due to launch the Hall Construction Group website (TBA) it has really increased our understanding of the construction Industry as well as the associated peripheral businesses such as Plumbing, Joinery and Electrical to name but a few.

Speaking of which, this week saw the launch of the Electrasafe website (www.electrasafe.com) an Electrical Contractor, and LLITE (www.llite.net) who provide training in various Construction trades.

So, all in all, whilst the world is feeling very uneasy, it is pleasing to see companies putting effort into improving their online image, which in turn gives the impression that companies are looking to the internet / web to assist in expanding their businesses.

Credit Crunch??

October 7th, 2008

Depending on who you are speaking to, the effects of the “credit crunch” or the so called “recession” will vary hugely; in fact most likely from both ends of the spectrum.

Some businesses are finding the current economic climate difficult; some choosing to batten down the hatches and brave out the storm, whilst others are using this as an opportunity to work smarter, or maybe tap into markets they may not ordinarily have ventured into.  Whatever the effects it is having on your business there is no doubt that by improving your companies online image (or in some cases creating a web presence full stop) you will improve your businesses chances of surviving.

More and more people we talk to are relying on the internet for new business, or even to improve the chance of securing the next big contract over and above their next competitor.  It is no secret that pretty much everyone your business is, or wants to do business with has at some time access to the internet and more and more people use it as a tool to seek out information and services.

So why not ask us to take a look at your existing site, or discuss the options around building your company its first website? We are more than willing to give you our opinion.

Blogging

September 24th, 2008

Funnily enough, in the week or so since we implemented the BLOGS into our own key websites, it seems that everyone we speak to wants one.  I assume is much like when you decide to buy a certain car, you then see hundreds of that type of car on the roads…..having never noticed that many before.

We have already been asked to implement a blog onto a School football clubs website, a recruitment company’s website specialising in recruitment to the education sector, and most excitingly a website collaboration between five countries.  We will post information as these sites go live.

Welcome to the EYE Web Solutions Blog!

September 23rd, 2008

So here it is… the EYE Web Solutions Ltd blog? … everybody seems to have one these days; for some people they are there to improve their search engine rankings, for some people they are there simply to entertain the regular visitors to their website, and in reality every person and every business has a different reason for adding a blog to theirs or their businesses website.

To be fair, I don’t actually know what made us add a blog to our website, as with most businesses we are always so busy working on clients websites and web design projects that we have little to no time to work on our own.  However, someone told me that sometimes you need to try to work ON your business and not IN your business, and whilst that appears to be next to impossible, any step towards that is a benefit…. so, whatever the reason, I will be attempting to post on a regular basis with news on our business, comments on industry news, and more importantly news of clients website launches, project updates and in fact anything that relates to us as a business.
